Stage 2 in building out. Your Instagram itinerary is developing your ideal audience. You might hear some other people in the marketing space refer to this as your target audience Avatar. This basically just means the imaginary ideal person that you're gonna think of when you create content for your audience this person basically represents the type of people that you want to come follow you before you ever start creating content on Instagram or starting to devise what an online brand or business might look like it is so so important to think about who the people are that are actually going to consume and engage with your content.

If you don't think about this in a really intentional way, then you'll never be able to identify what kind of content really intrigues these people what provides value to them. So you're gonna have a really really hard time actually attracting that audience and so we really need to start off this Instagram journey by approaching our target audience with Empathy and interest and really really dive in to what their goals are with their fears are and figure out how we can serve them along their Journey. So the idea of starting to map out your Instagram Avatar is that you might have in mind two three or four different types of people that you think you can serve with your content that you think your vision your overall. What will be of value to these people and therefore they'll want to be a part of your audience the more information you have about these folks the better your content will be you'll be able to make it more targeted more interesting and more valuable to them.

So it's important now to brainstorm and write down all the information you can think of and that'll really help you in the content creation phase goal of all of this research is to really make the people who see your content on Instagram feel like you're speaking to them directly because if you do that, they'll be much more likely to follow you to become engaged with your content and eventually to buy from you. So take a moment to just take a step back. And start metaphorically walking in the shoes of your ideal follower in the course workbook. You're gonna find an activity for mapping out who this person is, you're gonna give this person a name an age a gender a location and then you're gonna truly start breaking down who this person is at their core what their interest is what brings them Joy what their fears are what their goals are what content they already watch what music they like what they're binging on Netflix. The list goes on. There's really so much information that you could compile here. But we've given you a few prompts in the course workbook to get you started when you start using this strategy and embracing the idea that you have an ideal audience.

You have a particular person that you're speaking to then you're gonna be able to create so much more effective content a lot of creators start out this journey by creating what they're interested in what they have fun creating what they like to make and well that's beautiful and you want to make sure that that's a part of your process as well. If you want to see growth and turn this into a brand a profitable business, then you need to think about who your audience is and what you can provide to them and how you can bring them in by creating valuable and interesting content from their perspective. So try not to rush this process take a minute. Now, I would recommend setting like a 15 minute timer on your phone at minimum try to like stay off of scrolling and just focus on this little Avatar exercise and really work out who your ideal audience is and what you can do for them.
