A simple definition of a Content creation system is a habit or routine that you can return to in order to stay consistent with your content. You need to create a Content creation system that will realistically work for you long-term so that you can stay consistent with your posting and also avoid burnout over my years as a content creator. I've established many different content creation systems.

But today I wanted to introduce you to two of them to give you a sense of what different content creation systems can look like so you can possibly pick one as a starting point and go from there and developing your own. So the two that I'm going to talk about today are for my personal brand from my own content creation workflow. And then also the one that we use over at my social media agency Creator really media for our Instagram clients again, these are very different which really proves there is no one perfect content creation system. It's really about what works for you your schedule your kind of creative style. So it's just about picking a system that you can consistently return to in order to create content your content creation system might look like batching content a month in advance.

It might look like planning your post Concepts a week in advance and then actually creating the content the day of any of these systems can work. There is really no one better system than the next. It's just about what works for you. Okay. So let's start out by talking about what my content creation system has looked like for my personal brand. I've tried out a lot of content creation systems depending on what's going on in my life at the time as you've probably picked up throughout this course, sometimes I travel in my van and when I'm traveling I've made adjustments to kind of suit that more nomadic lifestyle in my content creation routine.

Also, there are certain times of the year when I'm busy or less available for making content and so then I'll adjust my content creation system to suit that as well. You can make adjustments to your own content creation system as needed to when your lifestyle might require it. Okay. So let's talk about the actual details of my current personal content creation system. So when I created my current content creation system, I really had three goals in mind and it might be helpful for you to think about what your goals or maybe like the constraints on your schedule or your lifestyle look like before you create your system too. My goals were to have more time to engage with my audience on Instagram have the flexibility to be more creative with my content and have a better work-life balance. So with these goals in mind I start to think about what that system or routine could look like where I can fulfill those goals in my content creation.

The main thing that all of those goals really require is time. And so I shifted from a previous content strategy of posting five times a week on Instagram to my current content strategy of posting three times a week on Instagram in order to accommodate for those goals and give myself more time. Basically. I decided that my strategy plan would be to focus more on quality over quantity in order to fulfill those goals another part of having more time and especially fulfilling the work life balance part of those goals. I decided to do a weekly content batching process rather than monthly content patching processes, which I used to do. So in practice, this is what the routine actually looks like my week's very a lot. So instead of having a specific time block each week to do my content creation - say Like Mondays at 3 pm or something - instead I have kind of a floating time block that I assign each week depending on what my schedule looks like how I achieve this is basically I have a recurring to do list in notion that I kind of pop out. Every week and then assign those items to different days of the week to different times. And so two of those tasks are plan my Instagram content for the week and create my Instagram content for the week. And so every Friday afternoon I look at my schedule for the following week and I figure out when would make the most sense for me to plan and create my content. That way I can make sure that my content creation fits in with the rest of my life with what I have going on.

But I also know that I'm not gonna forget to do it because I have it as a recurring to do list item. So if you implement a similar content creation system of weekly batching you could do what I do and like set a recurring to-do list item for yourself, or if you have a more regular structured schedule then maybe you do want to pick an hour or two hour chunk out of your week and say every Wednesday at 11AM. That's when I'm gonna work on it. Either method will have the same result. It just depends on what your schedule looks like. Okay, but maybe the weekly Batching system isn't really for you. So let's talk about another example and that is the content creation system that we use for our clients over at Creatorly media. This one's great for people who like to work ahead a little bit more and have a little bit more structure and foresight into their content calendar. So here's what the routine looks like for our clients the first week of the month. We have our content calendar planning week. So we basically sit down have a brainstorming meeting with our client get a sense of what their goals are for the month what kind of topics they want to speak to and then we create a Content calendar that week the next week. We start on content creation. So our client will send us any assets that we need like reals footage or information or photos and then we craft the content that week the third week of the month. We finish up our content creation and then we send that content for review. So the client can look it over and give us any feedback and then the fourth week of the month. We revise any of our content incorporate. Feedback and then schedule everything in later having this routine allows us to be really efficient and create content for a lot of different clients at once and make sure that we're always keeping on track and everything will get posted on time.

Now, of course, you might be in a position as a solo Creator where you're just making content for yourself. So you can modify this monthly schedule a little bit to make more sense as a solo content creator, but it can still work. So maybe for you it would look like week one plan and research your post Concepts and generate your content calendar week two gather all of the media for that content. So film the footage you need for your reels take the photos that you need create the graphic carousels week three could be editing all of that content. So editing your reals editing your photos getting everything to its final format. And then maybe you're week four is scheduling all that content in later and writing all of your captions and finalizing all of your content with this monthly structure you could really spend an hour or two a week on your content the same way that we do in that first example that I gave you of my weekly creation system, but it just allows you to work a little bit further ahead and not have that time pressure where you know that okay. If I don't do this now, it's not going to get done when you're working an entire month in advance. There's room for that flexibility, where if one week you get busy and can't do it. It can get pushed to the next week and you're still gonna have the time to finish everything.

So as you can see there are really unlimited variations of what you're content creation system could look like but the point of this is your content creation system is going to be really personalized and based on what suits your personality and your schedule some people just really like having the peace of mind that all of their content is planned a month in advance While others like the flexibility and creativity of doing things more last minute, but it's so important when you're crafting your content creation system that you take a Holistic look at your calendar and how much time you really have because the easiest way to fail on Instagram is setting yourself unrealistic expectations. So I know that right now when you're in the midst of learning everything in this course, you're probably feeling really inspired and really motivated to go and like post five times a week and make all this content and that's great and I would love that for you. But I also want you to really think about the long-term commitment of that and what you realistically have time for because the best thing you can do with your content creation system is be consistent. So make sure you solidify what your content strategy is going to look like and what your content creation system is going to look like and then join me over in module three where we're gonna start creating some content.
