Before you can truly dive in to crafting your strategy and building your platform on Instagram. You need to pause for a moment and ask yourself. Why why are you trying to grow a brand on Instagram? What are the goals that our driving you to keep going in this video? We are gonna break down all of that. So make sure you grab your course workbook and let's get started.
Let's be honest growing a platform on Instagram is hard work. It can take months or even years to see the results that you're aiming for because of the commitment and the persistence required in order to see real growth on Instagram. It's very important that when you set out on this journey, you have a clear idea of why you're doing it. You can't just set out to chase the dopamine hit of seeing the likes rolling in or the satisfaction to Your Ego of seeing a high follower count next to your username. You can't depend on that to fuel you because that kind of fuel Burns bright and hot but it goes away very quickly. You need to find something that's going to stick with you for the long term and help you get up every day ready to create content. Even when you're feeling discouraged. This is why you need a strong ‘Why’.
Which is what we're going to get at with this exercise. While I wish there was a quick and simple hack that you can use to figure out what your why is really this is something that is deeply personal and it just takes time and reflection to dig deep and figure out what it is for you the first step in finding your why is thinking about your long-term Big overarching Goal. You might start by asking yourself. Why did you purchase this course? What are you trying to gain from it? Is it a monetary goal like reaching six figures in your business, or is it a metric goal of like hitting 10K followers on Instagram.
Whatever it is, once you figure out what that kind of top of Mind surface level, why is we can use that? That and dig deeper to figure out what's really driving you and what's really going to keep you coming back and creating day after day like I mentioned before in your course workbook. We've got an exercise called ask why five times you might want to pull that up now and follow along as I talk you through it. Here's an example of what this process might look like.
If let's say your big surface level overarching goal is hitting inserting your goal into the first blank in the sentence template and then figuring out what the reason behind it is in that second blank in the template. For example, I want to reach 10K followers on Instagram because I want to score more brand deals. Then you're gonna take that reason from the second half of the template and insert it into the first blank on the next line. So for example, I want to score more brand deals because I want to increase my monthly income. I want to increase my monthly income because I want to be able to provide for my family. You're gonna continue doing this for at least five lines or maybe more if it takes you more until you really drill down to what that deeper desire is this is important because once you figure out what that reason is, let's say providing for your family. You can keep that in your mind when you come across these inevitable struggles or discouraging moments that you'll hit as you're working towards growing your audience.
So take a moment and use that exercise in the course workbook to determine your ‘Why’. Once you've determined the core desire and reason behind your pursuit of an audience on Instagram, then it's time to figure out who you truly are in the next video.
